Beginners Foundations of Yoga Course

Foundations of Yoga
Course for Beginners

This Foundations Course at Concord Yoga Studio will provide you with a basic foundation in some of the most effective techniques of yoga. Starting with the basic principals and practice of Asana (postures and exercises), you will learn to relax, strengthen and tone the entire body. We will also explore the foundations of breathing techniques called Pranayama, relaxation practices called Yoga Nidra and introduction to Meditation. This course will be highly practical with some theoretical components and opportunities for discussion and questions.

Beginners

For people who are new to Yoga or recovering from an injury or just wanting more of a gentle practice. We recommend also doing the above course if you are new to yoga.

Beginners/General

A mixed level class with variations for beginners to yoga as well as giving stronger variations for more experienced practitioners.

Teachers assess individuals during the class and offer different variations for the postures and techniques to suit their different levels of experience and fitness.

General

A mixed level class with less emphasis on the foundations of yoga and more flow and stronger variations for more experienced practitioners.

Intermediate/General

A class suitable for practitioners with a strong foundation of yoga with regular practice.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga keeps you healthy, fit and relaxed during pregnancy and prepares women for labour, birth and parenting.

The practice of Prenatal Yoga enables women to utilise their amazing inner resources of strength, calmness and intuition. You will learn important prenatal relaxation skills, positions, and breathing for labour and birth.

From conception to birth and first year of life is an essential time of physical and emotional development. This is a critical time for the development of primal adaptive system which is the primal brain, hormonal system and immune system as a whole.As the mother relaxes the baby feels that relaxation too and thus begins the wonderful role of motherhood and actually teaching the baby how to relax as well.

The Prenatal Yoga class is one of the best things to do for you and your baby during pregnancy.

Mums and Bubs Yoga- 6 Week Course

“ Mothers hold their children’s hands for a while and their hearts forever.”

Post Natal Mums can join us for Yoga with guest speaker talking about informative and supportive topics with morning tea afterwards.

You will feel relaxed, supported, strengthened and ready to face the rest of your week.

The Mums and Bubs Yoga classes work on core strengthening, releasing neck, shoulder and back tension. it also helps you enjoy your postnatal experience.

By toning and realigning your body and mind Mothers find they feel ready to return to their normal yoga practice. Great way to also meet like minded mums.

This class is offered to mum’s after their 6 week check up until the babies are crawling about.

Women’s Yoga

This class is specifically designed for women’s health. It is suitable for all levels of experience and great for women who are unsure about starting yoga.

Women’s Yoga is for  improving hormonal balance, menstrual cycles, fertility, menopausal symptoms, and building energy levels and reducing stress.

Easy Yoga

An easy,  gentle class incorporating breathing, relaxation and stretching. All welcome including seniors and those with injuries. Asanas (postures) in this class will focus on improving circulation, tone, balance and release of tension with adaptations so everyone can join in.

Kids Yoga

The earlier the better. Kids Yoga allows kids to release tension and stress so it dose not build up and create health problems later in life. Most importantly, Yoga for Kids is fun!
